Bio: Dr. Brent Potter, LMHC, CMHS, MMHS graduated from Duquesne University with a M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Existential-Phenomenology. He went on to earn his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Depth Psychology from the Pacifica Graduate Institute. He is the Director of the Society for Laingian Studies and core faculty with the Existential Psychoanalytic Institute of Seattle. Brent is the author of numerous articles whose topics include R.D. Laing, existential-phenomenological psychology, psychoanalysis, the psychotic register of the mind, chronic mental illness, and child/adolescent mental health concerns. His new book, Elements of Self-Destruction will be available through Karnac Books in 2012. He is an existential psychoanalyst and psychotherapist with more than 18 years of direct clinical experience. He practices and lives in Seattle, WA and Oak Park, CA.
